Q: Problem with internal hard drive i think

The other day i was on my mac and everything froze. I turned it off and when it came on i got passed the gray apple logo screen but got sent to another one where they showed me, disk utility, reinstall lion osx, internet help, and time machine. I didn't know what to do so i saw what the internet help was. When i try to reinstall the lion osx, i couldn't find my hard drive logo. So i checked and found out my hard drive was corrupted apparently. So i erased my hard drive, and got the disk to install snow leopard (early 2011 13 inch macbook pro) and when i try to install it, same thing, the hard drive doesn't show up. I go and erase the harddrive on disk utility and then i go and reinstall it and boom there it is my hard drive. Well when i go and try to install it, it loads up and goes to the screen where it says itll take 35 min to install, and 30 sec. later it goes reinstallation fail, restarting computer. What can i do??

Hi. When you tried to repair your hard drive did it say that disk utilities could not repair drive? Also, If you click on the first disk in the list and look down at the bottom right you need to see. S.M.A.R.T. status verified. When trying to install back to an older operating system off an install disk. You have to do a clean install.   http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT3910 Make sure when clicking on the first disk that you have  GUID  Showing at the bottom right. If your hard drive is corrupted so that disk utilities can't repair it and erasing your drive is not working. you may need to replace it. So, when trying to reinstall lion, you click on the install and continue and when it got to the select disk , there was none to select? Right. By everything you have said ,I think you have a failed hard drive.
