Q: Rosetta Stone USB headset not working with Macbook
I recently was gifted the Rosetta Stone program and have been having issues setting up the headset. My Macbook recognizes it in the System Preferences>Sound and I can choose the USB Ear-Microphone for input and output but when I actually get onto the program (CD-ROM), it doesn't recognize any microphones, even the built in one. I've done everything that the instructional material has asked and to no avail. I have the A1278 mid-2012 13.3" Macbook pro (non-retina) and meet all of the spec requirements for the program (I bought the computer knowing that it needed to be able to run the program, it being one of the main uses of, and reasons for purchasing, this Macbook) and am running 10.9.5. I've seen other threads on the internet, namely this community, that have had similar issues but none of those solutions seems to help (the Rosetta Stone live-chat support system is useless to say the least). Has anyone else with the same Macbook specs had this issue? If so, did you resolve the issue and how so? I am using the Latin Rosetta Stone program so the headset is somewhat tangential to my learning experience but I'd like to get my money's worth (or rather the gifter's moneys worth).
