Feb 10, 2015 5:54 AM in response to King_Penguinby petterpublicname, the fact that i need to download some random free app sure seems like a hack to me. I understand the instructions are from apple, doesn't make them less of a hack. Why would a reasonable system need you to download a random free application just to be able to complete your registration without a credit card?? This is the issue that needs fixing, the credit card info should obviously only be needed if you are actually buying something, not for downloading free apps or getting free updates.
Cheers,
Petter

Feb 10, 2015 6:07 AM in response to petterpublicnameby King_Penguin,See if these steps let you review your account without entering card details : Re: What do I do if I do not have a credit card
If not then you will either have to enter credit card details (which you can then remove), or create a new account, this time using that process

Feb 19, 2015 6:33 AM in response to patrong44by King_Penguin,It will if you followed the instructions on this page when you created the account : Create an iTunes Store, App Store, or iBooks Store account without a credit card or other payment method - Apple Suppor… - I've just tried it and it still works for new accounts.
If you've already created an account and didn't use those steps then try the link in my reply immediately above yours and see if you get the 'none' option.

Feb 19, 2015 9:09 AM in response to King_Penguinby patrong44,I tried the other link and clicked on redeem, but immediately a pop up window appears prompting me to enter mi id and password, then it´s the same old nonsense again with the terms agreement and then straight to credit card info where none is not an option.

Feb 19, 2015 10:21 AM in response to patrong44by King_Penguin,The poster says that the prompt to login and to accept the terms will appear, but that you should get the 'none' option on the payment details screen - I gave the same link to another poster yesterday evening and it worked for him. Your computer's iTunes is up-to-date and you are in the same country as you have listed on your account ?

Feb 19, 2015 12:14 PM in response to King_Penguinby patrong44,i dont remember it ever asking in which country i am in. I have tried again to create a new account and its always the same, accept terms, security questions, then straight to credit card info. never is there an option for none, and even pay pal asks for a credit card. its pure madness. if i click redeem its the same as i have just described above.

Feb 19, 2015 12:41 PM in response to patrong44by King_Penguin,You have to put an address on an account when you create it, that will include your country. If you are trying to use PayPal then you must be in the US, as far as I know it's only people in the US who can currently use PayPal as their method.
If you've tried creating a new account and you didn't get the 'none' option then did you follow the instructions on this page when creating the account : Create an iTunes Store, App Store, or iBooks Store account without a credit card or other payment method - Apple Suppor… ? I've just tried those instructions again and I still get the 'none' option when creating a new account.
