Sep 30, 2014 2:23 AM in response to MacToeKneeby Zamrod Amsod,I Think I discovered the issue. I have an av adapter plugged into my power cord. It currently doesn't have an hdmi plugged in but I keep it between my power cable and the iPad so I can easily plug in hdmi if I want to. It looks like I cant enable mirrorring while it is plugged in.

Sep 30, 2014 5:04 AM in response to Zamrod Amsodby MacToeKnee,Sorry for confusion, it was late, I was tired. I was just trying to establish whether video AirPlay was working in any way, but I used the term "mirroring."
Maybe sometimes never is better than "late."

Oct 18, 2014 12:48 PM in response to Rajeeshfebby Dr. Goodwin-Asire,Had the same problem but figured it out. When you press the AirPlay button select Apple TV in the bubble, then drag up on the checked Apple TV selection and you will find the Mirroring switch in the same bubble.

Nov 27, 2014 11:30 AM in response to MacToeKneeby PuzzledAverageUser,Indeed, that is the solution. Find the airplay icon, then swipe it up to see the mirroring option. Turn it on. Now ... Figuring this out has cost me an hour of searching all kinds of Internet site, various iterations with other suggestions, etc etc.. Apple is "intuitive"?!? Buahahahaha ... Best joke ever.

Dec 1, 2014 12:25 PM in response to Zamrod Amsodby magandaphotos,If you scroll up in only the little airplay box that comes up you should find the mirroring option directly under bedroom apple tv.

Dec 3, 2014 3:59 PM in response to PuzzledAverageUserby Hugh Mccutchen,The omission of the scroll bar in the airplay box cost me and my son about half an hour finding out how to turn on mirroring. The Apple help files were worthless in this regard. Is there a way to tell iOS 8 to always display scroll bars? The current situation is not user friendly at all. Must have come from Microsoft.

Dec 22, 2014 5:52 AM in response to Rajeeshfebby Captain silver 99,Hi, I had this problem as well, it turns out on ios8 for the iPad the AirPlay screen now scrolls. When you select the AirPlay devices in AirPlay try scrolling down.
on the iPhone its shown on the same screen.
cheers

Mar 10, 2015 5:41 PM in response to Zamrod Amsodby Brooksc29,DDid anyone ever help find a solution to this? I am having the exact same issue, there is no AirPlay button and it's not a matter of scrolling.
ive rebooted and rebooted and updated everything. Would a factory restore/erase all settings and content help anything?
i Feel like this would still work if I never updated any of the ios from its original settings
