Q: Can't change appleid from AOL address

I had the same issue.  When I clicked "I have this question too" under the message from shottsj, I was taken to the screen to change my username.  It worked.

I've tried clicking the "I have this question too" link, but nothing happens on my mac. Any clue?

I would assume that the process only applies if you have used an AOL Screen Name, without a trailing @aol.com part, as your AppleID. If you happen to be an AOL user but your AppleID is something like <user>@aol.com then you don't need to make any changes.
