Q: Help w/ Exporting

Hello,

Wondering if someone could help a newbie.

Our podcast is uploading "premium" stuff as a way to raise funds and You Tube was the best way to "hide" the content from the public, using the "link" as the only option to view.

While we are working on getting actual videos online, for now, we are using a title slide (picture; JPEG) and simply putting an audio MP3 (i.e.:  the podcast).

MY QUESTION:  when I create the video file, I find it to be huge for simply a picture and an MP3 as audio and it takes forever to upload.

Example:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ykex7nEkKJ8

Can someone assist me with the setting (or steps) to do with without the file being so big?

Thank you.

DN

You didn't make an mp3 file with a picture attached. You have a 252 MB video track of a still image and an AAC audio file that's 47 MB's in size.

The original audio podcast is probably in the 3 to 10 MB range and the image is about 100KB's. You exported from iMovie and turned the single image into a video track and a stereo audio track well above the normal settings for a spoken track recording.

QuickTime Player Pro could add a single image (scaled) to your original podcast and it would be just a tiny bit larger than the source. It would take about 30 seconds to create.

    Hello QuickTimeKirk,

    Thank you for the reply.

So I open MP3 in Quicktime and add an image, then upload to You Tube?

Anything I should look out for when attempting this for the first time?

    Thank you for your help.

You need to buy the Pro version of QuickTime Player 7 from the Apple Store. If you don't have version 7 you can learn more from this link:
