Feb 23, 2015 11:47 PM in response to Etela Neumannby Roger Wilmut1,AppleWorks was never available for download and has not been marketed now for some years. In any case it won't run under Yosemite (netiher will any other PPC program) unless you use a virtualiser such as Parallels to run it in Snow Leopard Server under emulation. It's possibly you may be able to find a copy on eBay or an independent retailer, but it's been unavailable for so long now that this seems unlikely. The free office suite LibreOffice will open some AppleWorks documents.
You may find my article on 'Abandoning AppleWorks' of some help:

Feb 24, 2015 9:12 AM in response to Etela Neumannby Peggy,Do you still have the grey disks that came with your G5 iMac? If so, the AppleWorks 6 installer is on the second disk. Otherwise you can purchase AppleWorks 6 from Hardcore Mac, Amazon or eBay. If you decide to go with Amazon or eBay, don't be put off by the "old version" labels. Any version of AppleWorks 6 can be updated to v6.2.9. Note that AppleWorks has individual updaters for 15 different languages & you must use the one for the version of AppleWorks 6 you have installed. The US English updater is available by clicking the blue Download button of the page I linked. The other updaters are listed on the page.
EDIT: If you are still using OS X 10.6.2, I strongly suggest you update to the latest version of Snow Leopard, OS X 10.6.8. You can download the combo update from this page.
