Have you solved this problem?
I had the same issue right after the updating to iOS 8.1.3 on my iPhone 5s.Nothing helped, but my sim worked on my old phones.
And my nano-sim card was originally fabricated as nano.
So, I had not made it from a bigger micro-sim nor usual "big" sim.
I was advised to change my sim card to another one in the following way.
I needed just to cut a new nano-sim from a micro-sim! (Guys in mobile shops have special tools for making it very easily.)And it's been working fine so far!
It seems, the problem was with my carrier's nano sim-cards.
They were not just less in its square, but also a little bit thinner than usual micro-sims. So, that was able to cause a poor contact.
But anyway, I still don't know how to connect it with an update to the new iOS.
