Q: I created a folder called "Folder" which held all of my folders and put it on the right side of the dock. I dragged it out onto the desktop and when I let go, it just disappeared! I've looked everywhere and I can't find it. HELP!

A:

It's on your drive wherever you originally created it. What you had in the Dock was simply an alias to the real folder. All you did was delete the alias.

Put the name of one of the items it contained into the Search field in a Finder window and try locating it from there. Items in the Dock are shortcuts, not actual files/folders; the item they link to is stored elsewhere.
