Q: Apple Router

HI everyone. I've had an apple router for over a year now & it's always had worked fine. A few months ago I had canceled internet with Charter, because I felt it was too expensive. Well, a couple weeks ago I decided to try it again with Charter... I wanted them to hook my wireless router back up again, but the guy told me that they don't like dealing with anything apple related because  they haven't had any good results when working with apple products. He was able to hook up my (Charter) modem no problem & my laptop is able to have internet, but not my iPad. When the guy from Charter tried hooking up my apple router, he couldn't get it to work. He recommended me to buy a brand new router & see if that would help. I decided that I should get a second opinion, because I wanted to see if I could maybe fix whatever problem it had first. I went to a local computer & had them check it out. He looked it over & plugged it into his system to see if he could get it work. He told me that it did work & with no problem. He was able to get internet with it. When I got home though, I couldn't get it to work at all. After the router is plugged in, all I get is a yellow light flashing. The router plus the modem is connected right - I double checked.  I have also tried unplugging my modem & router for about 5 minutes & then plug the router back in first then the modem - but that doesn't seem to help at all.

Has anyone else ever had a similar situation? If anyone could help, I'd really appreciate it!! Thanks!

The version number of my iPad is 7.1.2 (11D257)
