Q: iTunes 12.0.1.26 Cannot select podcast episodes

As of the 12.0.1.26 update, I am unable to select episodes for syncing with my iPod Touch 4 using the tickboxes in iTunes for Windows.  Clicking one box checks the one above it and only alternate episodes seem selectable.  Checked boxes become uncheckable.  Help.

One work-around seems to be to add (n recent) episodes using 'Automatic include' and the delete unwanted episodes with a right-swipe on the iPod itself.

    MEE TO

I can add that I first thought this was a display problem - maybe my mouse clicks were being passed to the wrong display element because my fonts are differently sized or something like that. But this is not the case. I tried selecting podcast episodes with the keyboard, using tab to move between lists and spacebar to select episodes. iTunes still selects the wrong episodes, and even then only some of the time - most of my spacebar presses seem to be ignored.

I'm syncing onto an iPod Nano, so OP's workaround doesn't work for me.

Can we please get a fix for this?

    Hi

I have the same issue and I am using an ipod nano, so cannot delete on device.  Is anyone looking into this for those of us suffering this bug?

I'm having the same problem. I have the latest iPod Nano and I can only add alternate podcasts episodes, since I click in one episode and the above is marked. Very annoying.

I have the same infuriating problem. I am using XP and iPod Nano 7th gen. I tunes version 12.1.0.71. When trying to manually select podcasts for download the top box of the menu selects but the next one  below does not but if I go to the one below that it selects the one above it. This applies down the list until you meet a box already ticked' where it gets complicated when you try to de-select it. It deletes the tick in the box above the one you try to deselected but if you move up the list it will only deselect every other one and the remaining ticks will not delete. It is very frustrating - it needs the Apple technicians to issue an update to correct it. It may be just us Podcast nerds who suffer - and I suspect we are a minority because Apple seems to be progressively marginalising us - Audio podcasts must be an irritating irrelevance for them. They are making it so difficult to use it must be because they want us to go away and let them automate the feeds to the rest of the zombies who simply accept what Apple feeds them.

Please Apple - pay attention and correct the faults in the Podcast Backwater.

The problem still exists in version 12.1.1

The only way I see to get around this is to uninstall itunes 12 and then install an older version.

Come on Apple - it's now December 2015 and there have been several updates of iTunes pushed on us yet this problem still persists, meaning you can't properly control what's on your iPod. Your software doesn't work - please fix it!!

Add me to the list of disappointed iTunes users (12.3.1).  I can no longer click on the individual podcast episode.  And when the click works, it shows up on a different episode.  It's always the simple things that Apple so elegantly screws up.  Is anyone working on this?

I Almost broke my mouse and was nearly late for work because of this problem. Deleting all unwanted podcast episodes, and auto-selecting all unplayed episodes does work.

I have to thank Apple. If my trusty old Ipod Classic hadn't died, I'd still be chained to this godawful program and this terrible company. Having this ridiculous, years old problem with the exorbitantly priced Ipod Nano that I bought as a replacement was the kick I needed to look for alternatives. And there are so many. I wont tell you what worked for me. Just know that with a little investment of time, you can be as free and in control as me.

Look at me, Apple, i am able to choose what podcasts are on my device, effortlessly, and cheaply. I have achieved the functionality of a flash drive. That this is all I wanted, and that Apple couldn't supply it to me is telling, I think.

Now all I have to do is pawn the Nano off to someone else and minimize my losses. Ebay, here I come.

What did you get as replacement?
