Q: can't get on cellular network

I am not able to connect to my cellular network. I'm not able to make/receive phone calls or text messages. I have no bars in the upper left corner of my iPhone - it continuously says "searching". I'm able to connect to WiFi.

This is what I have done:

I've reset the network settings (multiple times) via setting/general/reset/reset network settings.

I've rebooted the phone (multiple times) via sleep/wake and home buttons.

If I go into Phone/voicemail, I get this message "Voicemail is Unavailable, no SIM card installed". I've removed and put back in the SIM card.

I've turned on/off the Airplane Mode, which didn't help.

This is what I have:

iPhone 6

Verizon

iOS 8.1.3

Also, one other issue that I have on both phones is I have Auto-Lock set to 2 minutes and it never auto-locked on either phone, but stayed active.

I just purchased the iPhone 6 today, upgrading from a iPhone 5 (with Verizon & iOS 8.1.3), which had the exact same issue, assuming it was a default with that phone. Since both iPhones have the same issues, it doesn't appear that it is the SIM card or the phone itself. What else could it be?? The iOS?? If it's the OS, how can it be resolved. I would like to have a iPhone that works like a phone!

iPhone 6, iOS 8.1.3

You are most welcome! Glad that has resolved the issue at this point. If it starts up again, work backwards to see if you can determine the last thing that changed before it started happening. That, potentially, will be your culprit.

Best of luck, and thanks for posting back
