Q: I need to upgrade from 10.6.8 but can't find Mountain Lion or Mavericks in app store.

I need to upgrade from 10.6.8 but can't find Mountain Lion or Mavericks in app store. It is showing only Yosemite, which i do not want. Can anyone help, please?

Make sure your iMac will run MT Lion:

OS X Mountain Lion system requirements - Apple Support

Keep in mind that if you have older PPC apps, or other older applications they may not work with MT LION.

Download codes for Mountain Lion can be bought from the online Apple Store and then redeemed into the Mac App Store.
Mavericks is only available if you downloaded it before Yosemite came out.

Thank you very much. I bought MT Lion, after determining my machine has the capacity. I had already checked that I don't use Rosetta with any of my applications, so I am good there. I am grateful for the help.

You should have upgraded to Yosemite for free, rather than buying a 2 ½ year OS X version.
