Q: 2 of the 17 songs in my playlist didn't burn to disk, why?

I burned a new playlist and 2 of the 17 songs didn't burn to disk.  It has been years but I bought them through Itunes. One is Alphaville Forever Young (are their special songs in Itunes that don't burn?)  Trying to make a birthday CD for someone.  Thanks y'all!

The older songs will be in the format originally used by the Store - 128kbps DRM protected.  These protected songs can't be burned to CD.  If you subscribe to iTunes Match you can "upgrade" these songs (assuming they are still available in the Store) to "iTunes Plus" (256kpbs, not protected).  See iTunes Store: iTunes Plus Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) - Apple Support for more info.

Alternatively, you can convert the songs to mp3 within iTunes - select 128kbps MP3 in Import Settings under Edit > Preferences > General - then right-click on the songs and select Create MP3 Version (there's no benefit to choosing a higher-quality MP3 setting).  The resulting mp3 files can then be burned to disc.

I should point out, though, that iTunes facilities to copy media from your library is intended for personal use only, not to give to other people.
