Q: iOS 8 Calendar on iPhone showing GMT times for new events.

@DocOrly:  That is the classic manifestation of the GMT bug when used with an MS Exchange server, which is I bet what you are using.  This is exactly how it showed up in my setup.  If you want to fix this 100%, even for all the past events that got messed up, here is what you do:

1.  Go into Settings>Mail, COntact, Calendars>Account (where your calendar is hosted).  Then flip the little switch next to calendar to the off position.  It will ask you if you want to delete all calendar data from your iOS device.  Select YES.  Your data will still be there on the server.

2. Update your iOS device to iOS 8.2

3.  Go back in to the exact same place in settings from Step 1 and turn the Calendar switch back to ON.  Your iOS device will now sync down events from your server but it WILL NOT convert them to GMT because the bug is now fixed in iOS 8.2.

You will need to do this on all of your devices but once you do, the bug is GONE.

So at first it all came back correct to my iPad, NOTHING is coming back to the iPhone. AND all three (phone, pad, and computer) are not syncing at all.

About an hour later, WALLA, it was all working correctly! Thank you!

Has anyone else noticed that the calendar now also allows the selection of different timezones for the start and end times of entries? I may be being thick but I'm sure that this wasn't possible before. I've now been able to enter flight beginning and end times in local times.

I guess that email I sent to Tim Cook worked lol....thank god this is fixed !!

Hi, it appears to me as well that the problem is corrected but I have 2 questions.

1. All newly created events seem to be fine but events that were created when this bug was ongoing seem to have stayed the same on my calendar.  Is there a way to fix this?  I already downloaded the update.

2. Let's say I'm taking a trip from Texas to New York which is an hour ahead and I have a 4:00pm NY appointment.

I create the 4:00 appointmdnt in my calendar while im in Texas.  Will the appointment change to 5:00 once I land in NY due to the time zone change?

I don't know the answer to question #2 but the answer to question # 1 is five replies up from your post....

Hey there, you can set up a second calendar in GCal with the other timezone

and toggle between the two. This might help you out.

Otherwise, as your phone updates with the time based on your location, so

too would the calendar event (in theory). I recall testing this out awhile

back, but now with so many iterations and this bug, something might have

gotten knocked around.

It will still work.  Just do steps 1 and 3

You still should be able to delete your Cal from your iPhone and re-add it.

That should take care of past issues even after you've updated to 8.2. (It

worked for me). Let us know what works for you.
