Mar 10, 2015 3:15 AM in response to dhingedby Gary Scotland,You have posted in the wrong discussion, here we discuss Keynote, a Mac application to create screen based presentations.
As none of the above symptoms have anything to do with Apple software, ask in the Microsoft online community.

Mar 10, 2015 5:51 PM in response to Gary Scotlandby dhinged,I posted in the closest forum I could find; the keynote was being played through Quicktime through Apple's website on Chrome; should I post in Google's Chrome forum or is it possible Apple's software isn't completely infallible and other users may have run into the same problem?
Are you saying that you're able to adjust the volume while using a Mac? Is that how it works for you? Which browser? Chrome? Safari?
I only mentioned Chrome and Windows to give more info on what I was using; I wasn't expecting to get shut down and told to go to some other site just because one thing I mentioned wasn't made by Apple, I was expecting someone who's either run into the same problem or actually tried it themselves to see what happens would reply.

Mar 11, 2015 5:39 AM in response to dhingedby Gary Scotland,This is an Apple user to user community specifically to discuss the Apple Keynote application, other software and hardware is not our remit.
Hardware and software controls for sound are provided on all Macs and Apple portable devices.
Consult your Windows computer user manual how this is performed on the specific machine you are using, what may be available on your machine is beyond our knowledge.

Mar 14, 2015 10:39 AM in response to Gary Scotlandby dhinged,This is the closest forum for discussing an Apple keynote, please provide the proper forum for bringing up a problem with watching an Apple keynote on apple.com if it exists or state that it doesn't exist, because I couldn't find it.
The problem exists on a Mac on Safari and Chrome as well, so it's not a Windows problem, and I'm concerned that you keep saying to consult Microsoft/Windows forums/manuals but not Google/Chrome forums/manuals when I mentioned Chrome.
You did not test it yourself on a Mac on Safari, as I just did, so you were not even able to address the question, yet I'm still unable to adjust the volume in the keynote player, which is in Quicktime provided by Apple, so it has nothing to do with Windows, or Microsoft, or Chrome, or Google.
If someone actually knows how to fix this problem, on any computer, please let me know.

DesktopsLooks like you have a sound card issue.
No problems on any of our Mac, Linux or windows systems when listening to yesterdays special event.
As you can see from screen grab, the volume slider in the video control panel is at max, Mac sound output control also at max. Headphones working well set at 60% and when my external speaker is on, its set at 40%, any higher it would be too loud.
