Q: No sim card message

Please try:

-Turn your iPhone 5 to airplane mode, take your SIM card out, take a piece of tissue paper to learn to chip. After that, insert it back in, turn on your iPhone and turn off the airplane mode.

I think what this "Apple Support Expert" was trying to say is to remove the sim card and CLEAN it with a tissue and then put it back in.  if that doesn't work, then you may need a new SIM card.

There's no need to enable Airplane mode.

Each indicates a different problem.

OK, so it isn't reading the SIM. First step, as already said, is to clean the contacts on the SIM card. But use a pink pencil eraser. If that doesn't fix it try a new SIM. And if that doesn't fix it there's a hardware problem in the phone.
