Mar 9, 2015 1:27 AM in response to Kusongwaby Apple Support Expert,Hi there,
Please try:
-Turn your iPhone 5 to airplane mode, take your SIM card out, take a piece of tissue paper to learn to chip. After that, insert it back in, turn on your iPhone and turn off the airplane mode.
Wishing you best of luck,
Apple Support Expert.

Mar 11, 2015 7:24 AM in response to Kusongwaby Templeton Peck,I think what this "Apple Support Expert" was trying to say is to remove the sim card and CLEAN it with a tissue and then put it back in. if that doesn't work, then you may need a new SIM card.
There's no need to enable Airplane mode.

Hi, i have an iphone 5, not sure of the vesion number since its now on factory settings. But i thinks is IOS 7.1 or so.
The problem is that it does not recognize my sim card, so i tried to put it on factory settings so that i could reset and re-activate it but now its worse. It still not recognizing my sim card.
What is the exact error message, "SIM card is not recognized", "SIM card is not installed", or "SIM not Valid?"
Each indicates a different problem.
If you see 'No SIM' alert on iPhone - Apple Support

Mar 11, 2015 9:17 AM in response to Kusongwaby Lawrence Finch,OK, so it isn't reading the SIM. First step, as already said, is to clean the contacts on the SIM card. But use a pink pencil eraser. If that doesn't fix it try a new SIM. And if that doesn't fix it there's a hardware problem in the phone.
