Thanks. Hope it is correct this time. They are reporting what BGR reports who have a terrible accuracy record (they predicted the iOS release for this past Monday for example). But we know the iOS has to be updated for the  Watch whose event is the 9th.

As promised 8.2 is available and includes made for iPhone connrectivity improvements. It is hefty download so I will wait for my bandwidth free time in the wee hours of of tomorrow to download.

Are we excluded from the Apple watch. The iPhone can only be paired with one Bluethooth device at a time as far as I can tell so keeping the Halos paired while taking advantage of the watch's Bluetooth features seems impossible.  Apple support does not have an answer at the moment.

I have 8.2.  It took about 30 seconds to download on a cable connection.

NO, THAT IS WRONG.  I can pair my iPhone with several bluetooth devices at the same time.  The restriction is that you have to choose "where the sound goes."  So as I'm driving, if the phone rings, I have a choice of answering on my Halos or on the Car Radio.

Should be the same for the Apple Watch.  -Which I have no interest in.

I've been using 8.2 for several hours, and notice nothing new or different.  Connectivity is still good.

THanks, the download for my iPhone is ~500 mb which kills my bandwidth allowance (the price for living in rural NM). My connectivity has been spotty so,hoping this fixes it.

if I can get full Bluethooth use to both the Halos and the watch to use all features I'm buying a entry level watch to play around with.,and Imam a "watch person..." The health apps are interesting as are many others like Apple Pay which I am addicted to.

I live in Canada and have not yet been offered 8.2! Do you think they're making Canadians wait longer for some obscure reason? No seriously it hasn't been offered here yet. My audi told me when I got these Starkey Halos that I should never download an upgrade till Starkey had vetted it and advised it was OK. I'm anxious to download 8.2 because I understand they've fixed the GMT problem.

I Doubt Starkey being proactive. I usually wait for a few days with new iOS updates and read the forums to see if problems are reportied. In this case the daily struggle  to get connected after TruLink 2 has me motivated to update sooner. We have succesful reports here and I will report back as well.

I'm from the Province of New Brunswick, though I live in Colorado.  Other people downloaded 8.2 today before I was able to find it available.  They may be rolling it out by time zone.

So far, so good.  I haven't found anything different, and all is well.  I haven't had the connection problems that some others have had.

Here is what Apple Support sent re being able to use the Halos and an Watch at the same time "Note: While your iOS device can maintain multiple pairing records, it can only connect to one headset or hands-free device at a time. This prevents your iOS device from sending your data to the wrong Bluetooth accessory." Hoping that is being changed but it seems we are locked out of using both.

After a one hour download of iOS 8.2 in the wee hours of the morning the Halos did not connect any better than before. Had to do the Forget this Device drill to get them paired and connected. Perhaps that was a one time deal becsuse of the new OS. Will find out tomorrow.

I haven't had ANY trouble with connections at all on iOS 8.2.

I've noticed that my DAILY PODCASTS now DOWNLOAD REALLY FAST!!!  They used to grind away for several minutes, but now they download in a second or two.

They still SOUND crappy, but maybe Starkey's firmware upgrade will help with that.  I'm hoping that STREAMBOOST will fix the awful sound.  Maybe someone who has already gotten the firmware upgrade will comment on the QUALITY of streaming.

I expect to get the new firmware after my audi goes to his Starkey upgrade class at the end of the month.

The sound quality of StreamBoost is significantly better. I am amazed that your audi needs to attend a class on the firmware upgrade. Mine didn't. It took about 20 minutes using their Starkey software on their computer.  Not a big deal....

It isn't that he HAS TO attend the class, but he was already scheduled for the class when I jiggled his chain about the firmware upgrade, so it was MY decision to wait until his knowledge bank was recharged.  My calendar is really full right now, so I might as well wait and get "the most bang for the buck."

Plus, I don't want to end up in my audi's "pest" file.  So I offered to be his "guinea pig."

My take on 8.2 and Trulink update with the firmware update: I have them all.

    1. Streamboost is a bust. The update of the firmware and trulink over road the Streaming function my audi already worked on with me to get good sound. Streamboost is a step back and I have to manually go in and select my old streaming function. The audi had worked with the Streaming function provided by Starkey so that it gave me adequate sound quality with better base and true to voice as its likely to get. Stream boost is tinny and not loud enough and does not automatically cut the mike's. I order to resolve this, I must make an appt with my very busy audi. It takes at least a month to get in.

    2. I have not had connectivity issues except when I have my iPad Bluetooth turned on and despite having turned off handoff, etc, one or the other of the hearing aids will not pair until I turn off the BT. No change with updates.

    3. Working with Trulink is a complete mystery and there is no good documentation. Whay Starkey does not make it possible for us to link our HA's to our computer and work with them like our Audi can is beyond me. They wouldn't even let us do the firmware update ourselves which we do quite often and automatically on tother devices.

    4. Apparently the GPS locations were overwritten with the updates which means having to delete and reconfigure those because I can see no way to reset them.

I do hear in many environments that before I could not which is the main purpose of the aids. The frustration is with the promise of features that have gotten muddled by glitches. So I am glad to have these. Apple has yet to resolve WiFi issues that have existed since Yosemite was issued. So I guess we can't expect too much.

    Okay, so I've got:

         One enthusiastic vote FOR StreamBoost

         One condemnation

Anyone else?  I expect to upgrade my firmware in about 3 weeks, and plan to let all of you know my thoughts at that time.
