Q: continuity/handoff phone calls only uses internal microphone
When taking a phone call on my mac book pro retina (mid 2012, OSX 10.10.1), the audio quality on the callers side is bad to the point that my voice cannot be understood.
The reason for this appears to be that handoff always uses the built-in internal microphone of my mac, which is sitting a few meters away from me and has a closed lid !
However, I'd expect my USB microphone to be used (Rode NT-USB), which is setup as default input device and which works flawlessly with literally all other applications that use a sound input device.
The described issue makes Handoff/continuity unusable, and it makes me sad to see that standard OSX features are not working with software provided by apple itself.
I would be happy to either see a fix or if someone can point me to a custom solution (e.g. one that allows me to force handoff to use my external microphone).
Thank you
MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012), OS X Yosemite (10.10.1)
