Q: color choice for selected message in mail message list pane

In Yosemite Mail, (Version 8.2) the selected message is brown.

How can I change the color? this is not related to any 'Rules'

iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10.2), Mail Version 8.2

Highlight the message. Select Format from the Apple Mail menu bar. Then Show Colors. Change the color.

As I click on any message, it is always brown. So any current message is brown.
See how this image from Apple's Yosemite page the selected message is blue?

Mine are brown.

It turns out that the color is taken from whatever color is selected in the General Preferences in the System Prefs.
I had chosen orange because it shows up nicely in excel. Apparently, Apple has made all their crayon colors kind of dingy so it looked like a yukky brown. Here it is now as a light apple green. (Happy Now!)
