Q: home sharing 12.1.1.4 and apple TV

I am using iTunes on my PC, version 12.1.1.4. I recently got apple TV, since my old computer that was hooked up to the TV took a dive. Apple TV model is A1469 and utilizes WiFi connection, with the most up to date software downloaded. Now when I had my old computer hooked up to my TV via HDMI, I was able to use home sharing when both my laptops were logged into my iTunes account. I had no problems till I hooked up my Apple TV yesterday. I am logged into my account on Apple TV and my PC, iTunes is always up and on. But nowhere do I see home sharing anymore on iTunes. and Apple TV is telling me "To access your iTunes library on Apple TV, turn on Home Sharing in iTunes on your computer using (my account)." ....ummm, it already is. I am now confused and need some good advice.

I have logged out and back in to everything. I have hard booted Apple TV.

    Hello SmokeyPsa,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!

I understand that you are signed into Home Sharing on your Apple TV and in iTunes on your Windows computer, but are still being prompted to turn on home sharing on your computer. In this situation, if you are sure the Apple ID which is signed in is the same on both devices, I would suggest signing out of Home Sharing on your computer and signing back in fresh as described in the attached article. Please let me know if the issue continues.

Troubleshooting Home Sharing - Apple Support

On your computer, open iTunes. Open the File menu and select Home Sharing. If the incorrect Apple ID is listed in iTunes, do the following:

    1. Go to File > Home Sharing and choose Turn Off Home Sharing.
    2. Choose File > Home Sharing > Turn On Home Sharing.
    3. When prompted, enter the Apple ID you'd like to use.
    4. Click Turn On Home Sharing, then Done.

    Have a great day,

    Joe

Im sorry, but this was not helpful at all. As I stated in the OP, I have already restarted and resigned into everything. But for good measure it tried this again, after reading the response and still nothing.

Just to clarify, I am getting prompted on Apple TV, to turn a computer on with my account signed in. My computer and iTunes are always on and signed in.
