Mar 16, 2015 6:42 AM in response to Stevess579by Stevess579,I poked around, was wishing I could find a way to separate the thumb nails from the actual pictures. Cause there is doubt in my mind, these pictures that are horribly distorted are thumbnails. Id you know of a way or even know of some app that will do this get back to me, again thanks for your help.

Give the following a try. It will give you an indication of the state of your Masters, i.e. full sized originals or thumbnails or both.
Starting over from scratch with new library
Start over with a new library and import the Originals (iPhoto 09 and earlier) or the Masters (iPhoto 11) folder from your original library as follows:
1. Open the library package like this.
2. Launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and, when asked, select the option to create a new library.
3. Drag the subfolders of the Originals (iPhoto 09 and earlier) or the Masters (iPhoto 11) folder from the open iPhoto Library package into the open iPhoto window a few at a time.
This will create a new library with the same Events (but not necessarily the same Event names) as the original library but will not keep the metadata, albums, books slideshows and other projects.
Note: your current library will be left untouched for further attempts at a fix if so desired.
If your Masters folder is a combination of both full sized originals and thumbnails you'll need to go thru the Masters folder and cull out the smaller thumbnail files and then create a new library as described above.

Try the above link to move your iTunes duplicates. Are you using any third party site such as Amazon to purchase and download music from? I don't think iTunes will know the song already exists in the library if you do, which might explain the duplicates.
