Update on this problem: Since my last post I've tested by iPhone 6 on a number of different WiFi points.

Out of the 6 tested it works on 2. The others it rejects access, saying the password is incorrect, even though I've entered the right one.

I've tested it alongside my iPad using the same OS.

iPad joins WiFi network fine, iPhone 6 does not.

I can't see how this is anything other than an OS problem, as the phone connects to some WiFi, but not others.

Oh, and iPhone only connects to roughly half the bluetooth points I try.

Genius bar appointment booked for Friday...

You clearly have a defective phone, probably with an loose antenna connection.

I followed the steps discussed here through a process of elimination to narrow down the problem. Tried one, no fix, moved on to the next until I figured it out. iOS and OS X: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points - Apple Support

When I changed the channel width to 20/40 as suggested in the article, and restart the router, my old iPhone and iPhone 6 (neither connected previously) were both able to connect. No problem since. Hope this helps.

I've now resolved this issue, by getting a new handset.

I visited the Genius Bar yesterday. The Genius guy couldn't replicate the problem, but looked through the device's history then gave me a new phone.

The new handset seems to log onto the internet OK so far. I'll report back if that changes.

I had the same problem today after returning from work. My password attempts were incorrect & these instructions helped me recover it. This solved the problem. Thank you.

Entering the MAC address of my two iphones and ipad into the Route MAC address list worked....so far.

All other non-apple devices do not require this step.

All 3 apple devices worked fine until the last couple of IOS updates.....  aggravation I did not need

Like I wrote before, it's discouraging when people use this board to write lectures to each other.

I wrote here earlier that I purchased a new iPhone 6 from an Apple store in the US in December 2014. While traveling I found over and over that I could not connect to WiFi. Several posts on this discussion boards suggested I return the iPhone to the Apple store.

Last month, February 2015, I went back to the same Apple store where I purchased the phone. Here's the case:

1- I showed them that my iPhone 6 would not connect to the Apple store WiFi

2- I showed them a photo of my iPhone 6 alongside the screen of my MacBook Air (2012) showing the long list of WiFi networks in the air at a location the work before while my iPhone 6 was displaying "zero" WiFi signals in the exact same physical location.

3- I showed them the iPhone 6 of person sitting next to me also put up to my MacBook Air screen showing how that iPhone 6 was displaying ALL the same signals as my MacBook.

4- I then showed the technician how if I do a hard reset of my phone that the WiFi signals will appear, but only on a single case. Once I have left that signal area, signals from a new location will not appear.

This turned into a long tedious discussion with the technician as he told me it may be caused by Apps I have on my iPhone. I explained to him that I am not actually a big user of Apps -- just standard Apps that are very mainstream and how could it be that I could be suffering such a problem for Apps I have downloaded only from the Apple App store.

After basically begging the technician to replace my iPhone, he finally agreed BUT required me to sign a form stating that I would never bring the new iPhone back for a similar problem.

Guess what? I'm sitting here at Schipol airport in Amsterdam using my laptop on a very strong WiFi signal provided by the airport and my NEW iPhone 6 will not show the signal. And it's not only today ... this happens every single day. And I would like to add that I did not add any Apps .. I did not do a "restore" of my old iPhone on to this one (at the behest of the Apple store technician in the US) so that I could determine if it was indeed a conflict with some App or other.

I'm writing this all out because this forum has urged over and over that there are something like 650 million iPhones in service and it's impossible that the hardware of the iPhone 6 could have a problem connecting to WiFi signals.

This is a fact: I travel overseas often from the US and if you've ever done that you know that you better not let your phone "roam" with a data connection or you'll find a bill that will shock you. Since I was in the US last month to replace the phone I have been in Singapore (cannot connect to WiFi), Jakarta (same problem), London (same problem) and now Amsterdam.

What I end up having to do is power the phone down and restart it or just use my laptop.

Probably the majority of others miss having this experience by not attempting to connect to WiFi and rely instead on the telephone data signal.

What iOS are you using out of interest?

I had the same frustration as you, but although the guy at the Apple store couldn't replicate my issue he was happy to replace the phone and since then it's been fine.

But I worry the problem could return with an iOS update so haven't installed the latest one.

I'm using the latest IOS update that was out this week ... 8.2

Apparently I met up with a technician at the Apple store who was skeptical there could actually be a problem with my handset, despite having taken photos and screen shots of how I could not connect to WiFi very persistently.

Not sure if people are still having this problem.  I had ATT Gigapower installed today and I was having the same issue after I changed the default wifi password.  All devices except for my iPhone 6 were able to connect without a problem.  I was finally able to solve the issue on my own.  This will probably be of no help to anyone who is having trouble with the default password, though it might be worth checking on anyway.  If you log into your router and go to your wifi settings you have the ability to change the password (it comes set to WPA(default) for the default router password, but you can change it to WPA-PSK and enter one of your own.)  I changed my password in that manner and that's when I starting having problems.  If I changed back to the default everything was fine, but with the updated password I could not get my iPhone to accept the new password.  When I logged back in to take a closer look, I noticed that there are settings for 2 radio frequencies - 2.4 and 5 gHz (there's a dropdown box that lets you select).  I had only changed the password for 2.4 which came up by default, but the 5 gHz password was still set to the default.  When I updated that password as well all was fixed.  I'm not sure why the iPhone was by default trying to log in to the 5 ghz frequency but this solved my problem.

    Hope that helps.

Thank you! Jone9081 This fixed my issue.  Although I still don't know why it happened in the first place. I hadn't done any updates on my devices, so still not sure if it's Apple that is the source of the problem or my ISP.

If you really didn't have anything change recently I'm not sure why it would have happened.  Who is your ISP?  I had just upgraded my service with uVerse and got a new router.  The older one didn't have dual radio frequencies. Still, I'm not sure why the iPhone would only try to log in to the 5gHz radio.  Glad I could help.

Thanks Brian0618, I have Time Warner. Didn't have a problem before the other day. I just checked the wireless settings and it's set to 802.11n 2.4GHz using Channel 11. I don't have any other routers in the house so there shouldn't be a Channel conflict. But I did just test WIFI connectivity with my Apple devices yesterday on a different WIFI network and was able to connect just fine, so now I'm thinking it must be either the relationship Time Warner has with Apple devices (because the same day the problem occurred my HP laptop still had no WIFI connectivity issues), or there is something funky going on with my Time Warner Ubee router. I may just give it a little time and restore the old settings removing the ACL to permit static MAC addresses and see if it's still blocking my Apple devices but for now, doing it this way is working.

So my dad bought an iphone 6 and i solved the problem.

The problem was that my TV box had the same ip adress as my iphone 6 (192.168.0.16)

When ever i turned off my TV box, my wifi on iphone started to work.

So now, i just changed my iphones ip adress to 192.168.0.17 and its working now.

So be sure to look that the iphone doesnt have the same ip adress as anything else in your network.
