Q: How to deactivate voice control
I have an iPhone 4 running iOS 7.1.2
When I carry my iPhone in my trousers pocket it occasionally either starts playing music, or else places a phone call, or else announces in a synthetic voice "No match found". It seems that what is happening is that something is pressing against the home button, or else the home button is forced against my leg, which activates voice control. Voice control then attempts to interpret chance environmental sounds as voice commands, with the result of embarrassing or disturbing me or my friend and sometimes wasting phone call credit. Since some of the people in my contact list are ten time zones away, unwanted phone calls to them are expensive and can wake them at very inopportune times. I want this to stop.
I do not wish to control my iPhone by voice for any purpose, under any circumstances, ever. So I want a way to completely switch off all voice control features whatsoever, most especially those activated from locked condition by pressing the home button. Does anyone know of one? How close can I get?
