Mar 17, 2015 10:39 AM in response to xaipeteby mdjseymour,Well I have been having this problem for days, as others have said, my wife has been emailing me from her gmail account (on her Mac) and only in the last few days has been getting messages saying the email could not be delivered.
Im getting some messages immediately from her and others are never arriving. We wonder if its to do with if she is on the same ISP as when she sends via her phone ISP they seem to arrive immediately... almost as if Apple is looking at the route and holding them in limbo because they come from the same household.... odd

Mar 17, 2015 11:20 AM in response to aixen21by hello tuesday,Thanks for the number for Apple. 800-275-2273 if you missed it.
I just called Apple and got a case number. Spoke to a supervisor who said I was only the second person he had heard from with this problem, so unless more people call, they don't know it's a general issue. These boards are for DIY solutions; Apple doesn't read them.
When you call, make sure you tell Apple that you're experiencing this across all devices (so it's an iCloud problem, not a problem with your device, OS, or software) and that it is specific to Gmail emails only, and it doesn't matter if the emails contain only one word of text or large attachments.
The supervisor said he would report this to Engineering and if the problem wasn't resolved sooner, he'd be in touch in 48 hours with an update.

Mar 17, 2015 11:22 AM in response to mdjseymourby Benjamin Travis,My 2 cents on this.
There may be several things going on, but ultimately there is a larger issue going on between Apple and Google than individual people's ISP's and their gmail forwarding settings.
This is about e-mails FROM Google's server TO Apple's servers.
Whether those e-mails are just auto forwards from an individuals personal gmail to their own personal iCloud or if people only use iCloud (@mac, @me, @icloud) and are just getting day to day mail from Gmail users to their accounts, some mail is getting delayed.
Apple is very aware of the problem. Yes some tech's are not. It all depends on how they initially log your description of the problem if their script associates it as "the" problem we are all talking about or one of the many other possible causes for delayed inbound e-mail
They are working with Google to sort it out. There is finger pointing going on from both sides. To defend Apple a little, unless this is truly about Apple vs Google politics, I have to imagine that there is a deeper issue, otherwise this would be solved by now.
At this point, all we as users can do is continue to call them to make our voices known. They do know, but it it never hurts. Changing our individual settings etc... wont' fix this problem. It is something they need to do.
Now there are other issues that can cause similar issues (compromised e-mail, x e-mails sent in y hours, mx block lists / black lists etc...) these can be both on the apple side, or the gmail side. But thats a whole other topic.

Mar 17, 2015 11:35 AM in response to Benjamin Travisby logicito,I just called Apple 30min ago and the support agent (senior advisor because I escalated) told me I was the first person reporting this type of problem, and blame everything on Gmail. If I send emails from Gmail to any other account it will arrive within the minute, clearly to me there is something wrong between Google and Apple mail routing and/or servers.

Mar 17, 2015 11:36 AM in response to hello tuesdayby jwallens,Yes - I called. They were nice but seemed clueless and said this was the first they were hearing about it. I kept telling the support person to look at this board, but that's not their policy. Clearly a battle between the two email titans! Not sure how quickly this is getting fixed. I am going to use my gmail address until it does.

Mar 17, 2015 11:53 AM in response to jwallensby hello tuesday,@jwallens Yes, I had the same experience telling Apple about how it was reported in multiple threads here and on google product forums. Their job is only to respond to people calling.
So to everyone else reading this: That's why it's really important to call, otherwise Apple don't know it's a widespread issue and not just some fluke that a handful of people are experiencing. Please call Apple and report it: 800-275-2273

Mar 17, 2015 12:27 PM in response to aixen21by rebcob,I just called Apple support at (800) 275-2273
I have been unable to receive emails from two Gmail users because of this issue.
They said it was a problem on the Gmail side and that Gmail is working to resolve it. They said that they cannot give me an estimated time that it will be fixed...
-
Mar 17, 2015 12:45 PM in response to rebcobby yosh8585,I called them too. They sent it to engineering and claimed there was no known widespread issue. I call BS on the "problem on gmail side." Emails from gmail are received fine by Yahoo.

Mar 17, 2015 12:57 PM in response to yosh8585by Mike.Levine,I put in a call last night about the issue. Just got off the phone with Apple to check on the case and seems like the engineers sent out an email to the CS reps a little while ago that supposedly it got fixed. I'm still having the issue and they are looking into a fix. If you haven't called yet, you should, they have been very responsive.

Mar 17, 2015 1:12 PM in response to Mike.Levineby HenryMJ,Who exactly did you call, phone number, and what category did you use?
-
Mar 17, 2015 1:17 PM in response to HenryMJby Mike.Levine,Yesterday, they called me after I put in my information on the support website. But today I called the phone number that someone posted earlier in the thread and gave the person who I reached my existing case number. When I called the number today, I said "icloud", when asked what I was having trouble with. I was escalated and a senior tech called me a couple of times as he was putting my case up the chain.
