Q: iPhone 6+/iTunes music syncing problem

When I got my iPhone 6+ 128 GB in January, I successfully backed it up from my old phone no problem, including putting all of my music back onto it, a few playlists I'd made, etc.  However, last week I bought an album from iTunes on my phone and couldn't add a few songs from that album to one of the playlists, so I hooked my phone to my computer to try and do it through iTunes.  Not sure what happened, but my phone now has only a fraction of the albums/songs on it that I used to have and the playlists are gone, even though in iTunes in the 'On my Device' section it shows all my music and playlists as supposedly being on my phone.  They're definitely not on my phone, though, and I can't seem to add them back no matter what I do.  I'm at my wit's end here, I just don't know what to do to fix this!  Granted iTunes has always been a bit of an enigma to me, but I used to be able to make it work well enough for me.  Not now.  Any help is greatly appreciated!

OK, so when you hook your device up to iTunes, click on Music in the sidebar (running iTunes 12, correct?), and verify what sync options and music you have selected is.

If you do not see all of your music listed to be selected, then make sure that the music you are wanting to sync is downloaded to your library. You can go to the View options at the top of the iTunes window and click on Show iTunes in the Cloud (if it says Hide iTunes in the Cloud, then the option to show is already on and you don't have to do anything). Once you have all music showing in the library, if any of the songs you want to sync to your device has a cloud next to it, click on the cloud to download it to your library.

Next, you want to go back to that Music option (from the sidebar), and un-select the "Sync Music" option and then click on Sync (or Apply). This will remove all of the music from your device. Then go back to the Music option, click on Sync Music, then select the music you specifically want to sycn in the section below. Once you have selected all of the music you want to sync, click on Sync (or Apply) again, and it should download everything back to your device.

    Cheers,
