Mar 18, 2015 3:13 AM in response to 1147smbby OldGnome,I'm not quite sure I follow your question, but if you are talking about the "cc" symbol you see in a video window, that is used to turn closed captions on within that window.
Are you seeing captions and do not want to see them?

Mar 18, 2015 5:55 AM in response to OldGnomeby 1147smb,Yes, the captions themselves. Last evening I pulled up an ABC program from the ABC app (not ABC.com), and captions were on. I went to settings page and again turned on then off the captioning option. When I went back to my program, captions were still on but the cc button actually brought up dialog to turn them off. Some possible difference between iPad interpretation of cc data and that of the app for the broadcaster? Was never able to get rid of it Sunday on a USA replay.

Mar 18, 2015 6:32 AM in response to 1147smbby OldGnome,★HelpfulHonestly, that sounds like a problem with the ABC app, not the iPhone iOS. The cc settings in iOS are meant to apply to Apple apps, not third-party, I believe.
