OS X: Printer and scanner software available for download - Apple Support
Yours isn't on it. You may be able to get the printer working, at least partially, by manually selecting the driver for a supported model, such as the MX320.

Mar 22, 2015 7:27 PM in response to maccoombsby PAHU,The last driver that Canon released for the MX310 was for OS X 10.9. You should be able to install and use this driver on OS X 10.10 so here is a link to that driver. Please note that since the drivers digital signature is not for Yosemite, Gatekeeper may stop you from installing it. To get past Gatekeeper, right-click on the installer and select Open from the pop-up menu that appears. Now you will get the option to install the driver. Once the installation has completed you should be able to open Printers & Scanner and select the MX310 series driver in the Use menu.

May 7, 2015 7:21 PM in response to PAHUby wendysboyfriendjames,It worked, but gives an error that the software was installed incorrectly. But it printed what I was trying to print anyway. Mission accomplished. For now at least. Thanks!
