Q: Bootcamp disk0s4 gone after Yosemite update

Hey everybody. Got a question for Loner_T.

I'm in the same boat, changed my BootCamp partition size and ended up not being able to boot it anymore since upgrading to Yosemite.

I'd like to know if I should go with the testdisk, GDT fdisk, gdisk solution or not. I'm stuck at actually identifying the correct start/end of my BC partition and I'm really looking to redo the whole partition and reinstall Windows 7. Btw, if I recover the partition, will I not have the same problem when I upgrade from Yosemite to the next OS X iteration?

Here's what I have so far:

The highlighted partition is the one where my Windows 7 files are:

Now, I've read some threads that you posted on, but I'm still unsure what I should input in GDT fdisk and gdisk.

Thanks.

    1. It really is Internet Recovery (w/ spinning globe and thick progress bar).

    2. No spinning globe, only Apple logo with standard progress bar.

Looks like everything is ok so far.

Yes, it seems to be fine. I will test this later and see why Recovery HD no longer shows up under Alt. If possible, can you post a photograph of the Alt screen?

    Hi Loner T,

I've followed your workflow in the hope to restore my bootcamp partition, but run into trouble when rebooting. When I now reboot while holding 'options' my laptop only finds windows, thus not allowing me to access my normal partition anymore. I hope you can help me fix it.

Additionaly, when trying to boot windows, it remains stuck on a black screen with a blinking '_'. I hope you can help me fix this as well.

    Thank you!!

Can you start a new thread and post the output of the commands as used in this thread?
