Mar 22, 2015 5:32 PM in response to Sharonajby Skydiver119,You may need to just wait it out. Yahoo has persistent issues with their mail. It may resolve itself in a few hours. If not, you can delete then re-add your mail info to the app and see if that helps

Mar 24, 2015 9:26 AM in response to Sharonajby Ethelbert351,I Am having the same problem as you. It has been since last Friday that mine quit working. I have changed my password in mail but it keeps reverting to an old one I had several months ago. Hoping Apple will come up with some suggestions.

Mar 24, 2015 1:25 PM in response to Ethelbert351by Skydiver119,Apple will not come up with any suggestions. If yahoo's mail is broken, Yahoo needs to fix it. If Apple changes something to break Yahoo mail, then Yahoo needs to fix their mail to be compliant with what Apple has changed.

Mar 28, 2015 10:39 PM in response to chiro50by woodbedward,I had this problem too. With my iPad only. Had various yahoo accounts under the native mail app icon. Last week my main account just stopped updating. All others, gmail, etc ok. Yahoo app account perfect. Tried restart, reset etc nothing. Tried deleting and readding account - zilch. So deleted account, did reset then decided NOT to readd the account by tapping yahoo, but using 'other'. Needed to get the mail settings beforehand but then added as a 'other' account and hey presto, all is now well. Needed to sort out where trash, sent, drafts went (contacts are still an issue), but after a few hours of frustration, as distinct from DAYS trying to get it back originally, I'm happy(ish). My only question is, why if providers mess around with settings, don't they tell us poor souls, their customers, what they've done? Especially Apple who make themselves so hard to contact (a simple email address would be good) without expecting $$ to fix their own products.

Mar 29, 2015 10:00 AM in response to woodbedwardby hslsfive5,Had the same problem. Received email on my laptop and iphone but not ipad. I deleted the account yesterday, reentered it but nothing happened except losing all items relating to that e-mail. Did as you suggested. Deleted the account and re-entered the same email under 'other' rather than Yahoo. Holy Moly, everything seems to be fine now. I guess the problem lies with Yahoo. Thanks.

Mar 29, 2015 10:39 AM in response to Sharonajby Popssj,I Had the same problem. I resolved this by doing a backup to Itunes they doing erase all on the Ipad. then do a restore from ITunes. Make sure you have a full charge on the iPad before doing restore. My laptop sub did not charge my IPad during the restore. The restore from ITunes did not take to long but restoring all the applications and Mail via the Internet will depend on your connection speed and how much data pulled down. Good luck.

Mar 29, 2015 10:41 AM in response to Sharonajby BPHart,My wife’s iPad was not downloading Yahoo mail, although her iPhone was. Both used IOS 8.2. We tried deleting the account several times and troubleshooting all of the other settings. The problem appears to have been that allowing the IOS to automatically create the account on the iPad resulted in the wrong settings for the incoming server. The following procedure, pieced together from two websites, fixed the problem for us. So far, so good.
https://portal.smartertools.com/kb/a2659/configure-imap-for-iphone-or-ipad.aspx
https://help.yahoo.com/kb/mobile-mail/imap-server-settings-sln4075.html
On the iPhone, tap Settings.
Tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
Tap your Yahoo account, then delete it.
Tap Add Account.
Tap Other.
Tap Add Mail Account.
Complete the Name, Address (email address), Password and Description fields.
Click Next.
Ensure IMAP is selected.
Enter the following incoming mail server information:
Incoming Mail (IMAP) Server - Requires SSL
Server: imap.mail.yahoo.com
Port: 993
Requires SSL: Yes
Hostname is mail.yahoo.com.
Username is your full email address
Password is the same password used to access webmail.
Enter the following outgoing mail server information:
Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server - Requires SSL
Server: smtp.mail.yahoo.com
Port: 465 or 587
Requires SSL: Yes
Requires authentication: Yes
Username is your full email address
Password is the same password used to access webmail. It may have been entered for you.
Tap Next.
The iPhone will establish an SSL connection to your IMAP and SMTP servers.
That’s all!
