Mar 26, 2015 2:22 PM in response to tonyfromabujaby pmiles,You need more than just an Apple ID to use the App Store. You must have a payment method attached to your account. If you have NEVER downloaded anything from the App Store in the past, WITH THIS PARTICULAR Apple ID, you will need to add a payment method first before it will allow you to download.

Mar 27, 2015 7:19 AM in response to tonyfromabujaby pmiles,Yosemite is only available through the App Store. I suggest not using wireless for the download and go with a wired ethernet connection.
And BTW, by using someone else's Apple ID to download the software, you are attaching that software to his Apple ID. Meaning it will show in his previous downloads and not yours should you need to download it again. You really should resolve your Apple ID issue and download it under your own Apple ID.
