Jan 29, 2015 2:07 PM in response to Zweaksby ShagCA,If you can add one Yahoo mail but can't add a different Yahoo mail account, I can only guess that your password is incorrect.

Jan 29, 2015 9:54 PM in response to ShagCAby Zweaks,It's not my password. I know my password very well. I also used the identification key and still no luck.
After i entered my email address and password it tells me to Yahoo requires sign in authentication and it goes to yahoo.com . I login there and nothing happens in the app . So ...something is wrong here with my ID /app .
As i said before i'm using this account on my iphone 5 without a problem.
Can someone help me ?
Thanks

Feb 3, 2015 5:20 PM in response to Zweaksby msalvato,Im having the same issue with my iPad 4. The yahoo account works fine on an iPhone 5S and my iPad Air 2 but I can't see the inbox on an iPad 4. I deleted the account and re-added and recycled the iPad several times. I also heard that it may be a corrupt header so I delected all of the recent messages too. Nothing seems to help

Feb 4, 2015 6:11 AM in response to Zweaksby UTTransplant,I have the same problem. No yahoo mail after iOS 8.3.1. I did all the standard recommended actions by Apple - checked my email on another device, deleted the account, added the account back, restarted, etc. no luck - yahoo mail is MIA. my gmail is working just fine. How do we get Apple's attention that this is a problem?

Feb 4, 2015 9:39 AM in response to UTTransplantby msalvato,I figured out a solution. I deleted my Yahoo account and then added an account back in using "other". You must specify imap.mail.yahoo.com as your inbound and outbound severs. You need to provide your mail credentials on both inbound and outbound mail as well. use your full email name as the ID. xxxxx@yahoo.com. This worked like a charm and will certainly work fine until they provide a fix.

Feb 5, 2015 5:33 AM in response to msalvatoby UTTransplant,ADding the account as "other" got me at least part way - I can at least get my mail, read it, and delete it. I am still having trouble sending mail, but I will go work on that now. At least it eventually gives me an error message instead of just spinning forever. Thanks for the alternative!

Feb 5, 2015 5:35 AM in response to Zweaksby Skydiver119,Yahoo has an app. Or you can access it via safari
Yahoo is perpetually messing with their servers. And when they mess with the one your account is on you will have issues. It may be something that mysteriously resolves itself in a day or so. Many people have had issues and they just resolve without the user doing anything.

Feb 5, 2015 5:45 AM in response to Skydiver119by UTTransplant,Thanks for the suggestion Skydiver119. The Yahoo app is truly dreadful, just like the Yahoo interface in a browser. I have been using a browser to get my mail for the last 2 days though. My husband's iPad is still picking up his yahoo mail without a problem. The only thing I did differently was to update to iOS 8.3.1 which is why I think it is associated. All the mail set up on his system is exactly the same as mine; his works, and mine didn't.
I am still working through some minor issues with the app, but at least I can read my mail.

Feb 5, 2015 2:43 PM in response to Zweaksby scarey77,I am having the same problem with my yahoo/att email account on my ipad mini. I tried Msalvato's solution and it is working for now, but apple needs to address this issue for sure!

Feb 5, 2015 3:06 PM in response to scarey77by Skydiver119,How it works is if Apple changes a protocol, the affected apps need to make themselves fit the new protocol.
ie the burden is on Yahoo to make their mail work within the Apple environment.

Mar 26, 2015 10:21 PM in response to Zweaksby W612,Hi guys,
The reason why you are having problem to access yahoo account is simply because you add a new mobile device(mostly have issue with IOS devices) as yahoo set up a security measure for this. Just log in to your yahoo account under browser(desktop preferred) then go under " account info" of account setting then click account security to add device. After that is done, click generate password. This password will be used as yahoo email account for the first time and it will change back to your last password. We all know our password was not incorrect just need to do this under mail setting on your IOS device. You can either delete current to set up new one or just change password from generate password was given by yahoo. This will definitely solve the issue and back to normal.

Mar 29, 2015 11:30 AM in response to Zweaksby BPHart,A lot of people have been unable to access Yahoo e-mail on their iPhones or iPads. My wife’s iPad was not downloading Yahoo mail, although her iPhone was. Both used IOS 8.2. We tried deleting the account several times and troubleshooting all of the other settings. The problem appears to have been that allowing the IOS to automatically create the account on the iPad resulted in the wrong settings for the incoming server. The following procedure, pieced together from two websites, fixed the problem for us. So far, so good.
https://portal.smartertools.com/kb/a2659/configure-imap-for-iphone-or-ipad.aspx
https://help.yahoo.com/kb/mobile-mail/imap-server-settings-sln4075.html
On the iPhone, tap Settings.
Tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
Tap your Yahoo account, then delete it.
Tap Add Account.
Tap Other.
Tap Add Mail Account.
Complete the Name, Address (email address), Password and Description fields.
Click Next.
Ensure IMAP is selected.
Enter the following incoming mail server information:
Incoming Mail (IMAP) Server - Requires SSL
Server: imap.mail.yahoo.com
Port: 993
Requires SSL: Yes
Hostname is mail.yahoo.com.
Username is your full email address
Password is the same password used to access webmail.
Enter the following outgoing mail server information:
Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server - Requires SSL
Server: smtp.mail.yahoo.com
Port: 465 or 587
Requires SSL: Yes
Requires authentication: Yes
Username is your full email address
Password is the same password used to access webmail. It may have been entered for you.
Tap Next.
The iPhone will establish an SSL connection to your IMAP and SMTP servers.
That’s all!

Apr 11, 2015 10:48 AM in response to BPHartby homewerk,I too am having the same problem and have been unable to access my Yahoo! mail. All other mail (exchange, gmail, icloud) works fine. I opened a support case with Yahoo and they say it's an Apple problem, not Yahoo. They provided me with a workaround (manually creating new mail account, pointing to imap.mail.yahoo.com) but that doesn't seem to work either. Thanks again Apple for the disruption. And I'm supposed to go run out and buy an Apple Watch? Hah!!
