Q: Bluetooth: need help connecting rMBP to iPhone 6
Hello,
Been trying to figure out how to share my internet connection from my Macbook to my iPhone for a really long time now. My housing complex supplies us with a WiFi connection, but for some reason my iPhone/iPad do not seem to be able to pick it up even though my Mac can. I finally got too frustrated today and looked online for how to connect the two iOS devices to my Mac.
I got it working on my iPad just fine. I turned on internet sharing on my mac (running Yosemite), turned on the Bluetooth PAN, then paired the iPad to the Mac. Bam internet!
Tried the same thing with my iPhone and it connected, but then disconnected saying "this device not supported" on my iPhone. I've looked it up online and, yes I have read the post by Lawrence Finch, but I'm assuming that isn't applicable anymore because I was able to get my iPad connected. Please help.
Lawrence Finch post: Bluetooth: Why can't I pair my iPhone or iPad with another iOS device or with my computer?
iPhone: 6, 8.2, ATT
iPad: Mini 2, 8.2, WiFi only
Mac: Late 2012, Yosemite Beta (10.10.3)
If there's an app that can do this then awesome.
Again. Trying to connect WiFi internet access on Mac to iPhone either via Bluetooth or USB tether. I don't need it to go the other way round.
OS X Yosemite (10.10.2)
