Q: permissions issue preventing saving

I have the same issue that was reported here two years ago with an old version if the software:

Re: I can't do anything in iAd Producer 4.1

Basically, about 30 mins ago, iAd Prod started preventing me from saving with the following dialog:

If I go to investigate the permissions, you can see that this happens even with all permissions set to allow writing

This happens no matter where on my machine I attempt to save and I can save other application files... just on iAdProd files. Where I can save is on a flash drive which is my workaround. I save there and then drag to the folder where I keep my project files. Not fun.

I've uninstalled, reinstalled, tried running the commands for terminal on that other thread and even upgraded to 5.0.1 and nothing has solved it. Any ideas?

I had exactly the same problem, the solution given by patixa in the thread you quote worked for me.

      • rm -rf /Users/majedsaud/Library/Containers/com.apple.iAdProducer
      • rm -rf /private/var/folders/w0/9r22h60j2sj8qd qzk0_j75x80000gn/T/com.apple.iAdProducer

The exact folder in the second command was different on my Mac but it was easy enough to locate from the final part of patixa's instructions.

Good luck with sorting your problem, having had the same thing I know how frustrating it is.

heh... well I will try that if the problem ever rears its ugly head again. I came up with a failsafe solution: wipe the Mac HD and reinstall Yosemite. I'm on a work machine where everything lives on an Airport and it was easy to do (although time consuming).

So, problem solved but this solution may not suit everyone
