Q: There is a progress bar stalled under my launchpad icon -- any idea how to make it go away?

There is an install bar of some sort that is stalled under the Launchpad icon. How can I see what is being installed -- if anything -- and make it go away. The computer is six months old and this just appeared. Thank you!
