Q: Ipod nano 7thGen. Disconnected without ejecting and now iTunes freezes when i connect Ipod

So my little brother decided in his genius that he could remove my iPod from the pc without ejecting it. Two days later I go to use it, and I have all the music info and playlists on it but no music, so I load up iTunes plug it in, except it freezes. It says it 'verifying the iPod and that it, it freezes.

I've reset my iPod, still freezes. If it's not plugged in ITunes works fine. 

Any one have any ideas?
