It seems a key on your keyboard is stuck down. That does sound troublesome. Based on the information you have provided, it appears your MacBook Pro may need to be serviced. Apr 1, 2015 6:34 PM in response to findly2by WZZZ,I don't know what's going on, since you say you don't have this issue with another keyboard, but if the Option key were stuck, mechanically or electrically, on a restart you would get the startup manager (boot picker), a screen which shows available volumes to boot to. It wouldn't go to a gray screen..
