Q: Activation required

i bought an iphone 6 64gb gold verizon gsm , and i want to activate on my country dominican republic and when i put the sim the phone say invalid sim and when i try to do the same on itunes the result is the same invalid sim

where exactly did you buy the iPhone 6
from Claro or Orange or is it a grey import from an unauthorised reseller ?
