Apr 8, 2015 10:22 AM in response to John Lockwoodby Solley,Thanks, John. I think you're right. Your comment may be helpful, I'm trying to locate the button to switch the active socket. I see only power on/off button and noting else, even on the back. Will see again now.

The buttons will be there but are well disguised on the latest Dell model monitors. They are now more touch sensitive buttons rather than older style push buttons. Trying running your finder down the right-hand side.

Dec 18, 2015 12:44 PM in response to John Lockwoodby kaelie12,I had no idea those buttons were there so maybe I could have resolved this earlier.
I couldn't get the correct resolution, so got the mini Dp tp Dp and had the same error as everyone else. I then saw this post, used the buttons and I have full resolution and everything is working correctly.
Thank you very much.

Mar 25, 2016 1:57 PM in response to John Lockwoodby frankfromnaija,Hi,
I have a pair of Dell 2414h Monitors and i tried to connect a Blackmagic Design Ultrastudio mini monitor device. This didn't work because i found that the device wasn't just working, Before then, my 2 monitors were fully active in a dual screen configuration. After my attempt with the external device, i decided to go back to my dual screen arrangement, only to find that one of the screens wasn't working. It was just a black screen saying No Display Cable detected!
After trying everything like rebooting my Mac, switching off the monitor from the power button, switching cables, I just decided to to switch off the monitor by yanking the power cable from the monitor while it was still switched on. Removed the display port cable, plugged the power cable back into the monitor and then reconnected the display port cable and what do you know? The monitor came back on like magic!!!!!!
I hope this works out for you or anyone else with this problem.
Good Luck!
