    me too!

it happened on my pro 2009 model back in 2012... and i TODAY bought a MBA and first thing i checked was the cam.... nada.

    CAMERA NOT CONNECTED..

this has happened to BOTH of my macs!!

WHY IS APPLE NOT DOING ANYTHING.

i just shed out $800 today.

i will be back in the store in the morning and returning it.

apple are losing customers like flies by the sounds of it,... their products are now just mass produced and overpriced and 50/50 don't work!

This problem drove me crazy, but then I found the solution posted here (http://osxdaily.com/2013/12/27/fix-there-is-no-connected-camera-error-mac/) and was amazed with how easy it was. It fixed my MBA. The camera cam right back to life.

@kenmort - Thanks, worked like a charm. I almost thought it is a hardware issue and gave up. With this fix probably my MacBook Pro 2009 can serve the purpose for a little longer. You saved me few bucks

    Dear Apple Users,

i have experienced the problem of a not working isight (listed on hardware profile)

on a Macbook Pro 15” 2009 and i want to share with you how

    i solved the problem:

    • tried all kind of reset ( SMC and NVRAM/PRAM)
    • disconnected and clean Monitor cables
    • Clean install of Yosemite 10.10.4
So yesterday i removed the Battery , disconnected the Power Supply and leaved the Macbook without energy all the night .

This Morning i started my MBP opened Quicktime X , new video recording and …WORKED Again !!!!

Thanks anyway to all the helping people and let me know if i had helped someone to solve the same isight Problem

    Ciaoo
