Q: Yosemite Exchange Calendar Problems

I use the calendar app to review entries made mostly from my Blackberry Z30 which are synced on my Exchange Server.  Been working fine for years.  Upgraded to Yosemite, and the calendar.app / Exchange link appears to be broken.  After clicking "revert to server" on a calendar entry about 100 times and rebooting, calendar.app is simply unusable.

This has really been the worse upgrade ever.  Any ideas would be helpful.  I guess its time to downgrade to get back to normal operations.

After the Yosemite upgrade, when I "accept" a meeting I regularly get a dialog that says "You're about to send changes for ..." followed by the meeting name.  Then I get "Do you want to send <meeting name> now, continue editing the event or revert the changes?".  The buttons are "Revert", "Edit" and "Send".  Clicking on Revert and then clicking anywhere else in the calendar just makes that modal pop up again.

The only workaround I've found is to quit Calendar.app and restart it.

${employer} is running Exchange 2010 at Intermedia.  I can't control this very much.

This reminds me of similar issues back in the Mountain Lion days where accepting a meeting would duplicate it and re-invite everyone.  It seems like a regression to me.

Has the 10.10.2 update fixed this?

Yosemite iCal v. 8.0 is not compatible with Exchange 2007, but is compatible with Exchange 2010.  I upgraded to Exchange 2010 and iCal now works just fine.

Not for me. Also, somehow I don't think that asking my employer to upgrade the enterprise Exchange infrastructure is gonna go over too well. More like, "uh... no. Here's a Dell with Win7. Now go back to work."

My employer is running Exchange 2010 and I'm not getting any of those issues since the Calendar updates. Our company uses pictures as part of our Exchange profiles. Outlook for Mac would show them but none of the Apple apps (Mail, Calendar, Contacts) would show them.

I came across this little app at this site and ran the app and it synced all the photos so now Exchange photos show up all over the place.

Were you running Exch2007 RTM? or was it post SP1? According to the Yosemite documentation, Exch2007 SP1 and later are supported.

My company recently upgraded to Exchange server 2013 and after that I lost the sync on my Calendar on the Mac Book Pro running Yosemite 10.10.2.

After some tests following some other tips on this support forum that did not work for me I created a new user account and opened a new Exchange account on that and there the sync to the calendar worked.

So then I followed the steps on how to reinstall Yosemite following this: https://support.apple.com/kb/PH18872?locale=en_US

After that I deleted the Exchange account and added it again and it worked. So it was either a combination of the two or you might just need to delete the account and ad it again. Cannot remember if I tried that before the reinstall but now it works.

My org is using Exchange 2010 and I am on Yosemite and I am still having this problem. It's mostly related to cancelled appointments still showing in the Apple Calendar app (and Fantastical). So, I don't know where to go from here or what to try. I really don't want to have to use the Outlook Mac app.

Several times, I have removed the Exchange account from my "Internet Accounts" in System Preferences and this doesn't always fix the issues. When I look in Outlook (or OWA) the correct calendar there doesn't match the events in my Apple Calendar. It's very frustrating.

So has anyone tried Calendar with 10.10.3? I don't know if Calendar fixes were part of it but I'm curious. I've since switched over to the Outlook for Mac Preview which is beta but seems to be working pretty well but I miss the ability to see my iCloud calendar side-by-side with my Exchange calendar.

I haven't tried but I suspect there will be no change. The latest update didn't include anything having to do with the Calendar.

I am testing Calendar with 10.10.3. Even though Apple may not have mentioned it they don't always disclose their fixes. I haven't gotten the error yet when I view a recurring calendar and close it that Yosemite prompts me to update the event or revert to server.

Mail still has problems deleting event emails when you accept them from Mail.

I have been testing Calendar in Yosemite 10.10.4 with Exchange 2010 and it's still having issues with syncing - especially when changing appointment times. I added two appointments in Calendar and then opened Outlook after an hour and they still were not in Outlook.

So unless this is fixed in a new Yosemite update or El Capitan, I'm moving back to Outlook for Mac.

The issue described is happening to me now since upgrading to El Capitan, using my work Exchange calendar. Even a restart of the Calendar application will make the invitation pop up with no way to dismiss it or "revert" it. The only way I found to dismiss the pop up window with the details is to disable the calendar in Accounts, and re-enable it. Anybody knows a simpler workaround or a fix so that one can look into the details of an invitation without sending changes to everyone? Thanks.

I wanted to add that my work account uses Exchange 2010, and the issues are very bad. In particular with invitations and events in calendars initiated by others, there is just no way to close them in a month view after double clicking them to see details. The workaround is to disable the entire calendar in Accounts, quit Calendar, and reenable the account - or use the day view only to view events without popup. I hope the bug is fixed soon.
