Q: why is the music on my ipod showing up on my ipod when it is connected to the computer but when i look at my ipod the music is not there?

I connected my Ipod to my computer and it will show up if I press on my ipod icon in the music.  But if I look at the screen on my ipod it shows that there is no music there.  What is going on.  Every time I connect it to my computer I have to reset my ipod and redownload all of the music because it wont let me take off the music because it says that it is no there.  But when I download all of my music again it will show that I have double of everything but only when I look on my ipod icon on the computer in my music.

Perhaps you are not syncing right. Try it like this and you can select which playlists, artists, albums etc. to sync to your iPod.

I couldn't find a solution to this online so started just fiddling around on my iPod and iTunes.  What I discovered was that all of the albums that were not showing on the iPod did show when I did a search on the iPod.  What I noticed was that all of them said 'various artists,' even when they weren't.  When I went onto iTunes on the computer, clicked on the album and clicked 'get info,' the album had 'album is compilation of songs by various artists' checked.  When I unchecked it and synced my iPod, it resolved the issue.  Hope it works for some others too!
