Apr 11, 2015 10:12 AM in response to Dixie Flatlineby Terence Devlin,★HelpfulThe fear remains in iPhoto, nothing taken away. It's just not in the new app:
http://www.apple.com/feedback/macosx.html is the place for feature requests and feedback

Apr 11, 2015 10:18 AM in response to Terence Devlinby Dixie Flatline,Thanks Terence. Photo shoved aside iPhoto on my taskbar, but I see that iPhoto is still there in the applications. So I choose to ignore the shiny new app and keep using the same old app that has a better feature set. "Fear remains in iPhoto" indeed.

Apr 11, 2015 10:31 AM in response to Terence Devlinby ARLR,So what kind of logic was there in removing an important capability such as adding location?
-
Apr 12, 2015 1:37 AM in response to ARLRby Terence Devlin,The logic? For me, very little. But I think there's a valid argument that says the app is designed with iPhone shooters in mind. No harm there, that's the most popular camera in the world right now, but for old stick in the mud DSLR users, it feels like time to explore other possibilities.

Apr 12, 2015 7:20 AM in response to Terence Devlinby BreeZaneMom,That would be great if all of us were "iPhone shooters", but many of us use REAL cameras and need the ability to do things like sort into events, adding locations, etc.
iPhoto was SO much better for those of us who aren't strictly iPhone shooters.

Apr 12, 2015 7:28 AM in response to BreeZaneMomby Terence Devlin,My response was to use another app.

Apr 12, 2015 7:32 AM in response to ARLRby Allan Eckert,It was not logic. It was pure and simply the dumbing down of the app to match the iPhone.
If you don't like Photos then start looking for a non-Apple solution for you photos.

Apr 12, 2015 7:35 AM in response to Allan Eckertby Terence Devlin,Oh there's a logic for Apple right. It works for them.

Apr 12, 2015 7:39 AM in response to Terence Devlinby BreeZaneMom,Yeah....who cares about the people using their product? As long as it works for Apple, the consumer is obviously not important.

Apr 12, 2015 7:42 AM in response to Allan Eckertby Terence Devlin,Heavens aren't you cynical. They're not screwing the iPhone users, are they?
-
Apr 12, 2015 7:44 AM in response to Terence Devlinby Allan Eckert,No. I was thinking of the serious photographers which is not the iPhone users for sure.

Apr 12, 2015 7:48 AM in response to Terence Devlinby BreeZaneMom,I have an iPhone and occasionally use it for photos, but my main camera is NOT an iPhone. To be forced to go outside Apple for a product when Apple had perfectly good products available is ludicrous. But it is what it is, apparently.
