Apr 10, 2015 4:32 PM in response to DyslexicFSby Tesserax,As you mentioned, the Time Capsule has a router built-in. What exact problem are you having with configuring port mapping? What is the make & model of the Internet modem that you have your Time Capsule connected to by Ethernet?

Apr 10, 2015 5:25 PM in response to Tesseraxby DyslexicFS,I'm not having any problem except the port forwarding isn't working.. And I don't know the "make & model" of the internet modem...

Apr 10, 2015 10:01 PM in response to DyslexicFSby Tesserax,What application or device are you attempting to set up port forwarding for? Does your Time Capsule get a public IP address on its WAN side? That is, does the IP address start with something other than 10, 172, or 192?

Apr 11, 2015 9:05 AM in response to Tesseraxby DyslexicFS,I'm trying to make a public minecraft server for just my friends to play on. Like I said, I've done this before but it doesn't seem to work now. I dont know what you mean by "WAN side"

Apr 11, 2015 12:22 PM in response to DyslexicFSby DyslexicFS,well my default gateway does start with "192" if thats what you mean
-
Apr 11, 2015 2:56 PM in response to DyslexicFSby Tesserax,If your default gateway starts with "192" then there is another router upstream of your Time Capsule that NAT enabled. That means two things: 1) Your TC should be reconfigured as a bridge, and 2) All port mapping must be done on that upstream router.

Apr 12, 2015 7:52 AM in response to Tesseraxby DyslexicFS,Okay, how do I do that? I was unable to find stuff online about that...
-
Apr 12, 2015 8:58 AM in response to DyslexicFSby Tesserax,To configure the TC as a bridge you will need to use the AirPort Utility, as follows:
- Start the AirPort Utility.
- Select your TC. Enter your base station Administrator password if necessary.
- Select Edit.
- Select Advanced, and then, DHCP and NAT.
- Change Router Mode to: Off (Bridge Mode)
- Allow your TC to restart.
To configure your other device for port forwarding you will need to determine its make & model, and then, download a copy of its user guide. Then use the guide for instructions on how to configure port forwarding on it.

Apr 12, 2015 9:15 AM in response to Tesseraxby DyslexicFS,im on a windows OS, so the layout is different. I dont know where you are trying to point me to.

Apr 12, 2015 9:28 AM in response to DyslexicFSby Tesserax,Sorry, but I don't have a Windows computer handy at the moment so this will have to come by memory.
- Run the AirPort Utility.
- Select your TC, and then, select Manual Setup.
- Go to the Wireless tab.
- Change Router Mode to: Off (Bridge Mode)
- Click on Apply.
- Allow the base station to restart.
Since you have done this before on another computer this should be familiar to you.

Apr 12, 2015 9:27 AM in response to Tesseraxby DyslexicFS,Okay well I found the bridge mode, but all it did was screw up my network. I can't connect to my internet..
-
Apr 12, 2015 9:32 AM in response to DyslexicFSby Tesserax,Sorry that didn't work out. I suggest returning the base station back to providing both NAT & DHCP. Without knowing what you have your TC connected to I can only guess that it needed to be placed in bridge mode to work based on your statements.
Again, since you have done this before successfully, just use the AirPort Utility like you did before to configure the TC for port forwarding. Setting up the required ports for your Minecraft server.
