Q: events and photos missing with 10.10.3 update

I have about 4000 photos that were organized into events on my iMac.   After the update to yosemite 10.10.3 the iPhoto icon has changed and I can not see any of the pictures or events that where in previous version of iMac.    I tried command option starting photos however all I get is a repair library option not anything to let me rebuild the iPhoto library.

The Photos app takes the place of iPhoto.

Press option key when starting the photos app and you will be asked to choose a library

pick your iPhoto library to see those images.

If you had iPhoto version 9.6.1 you can still use that, the application is still in your Applications folder.

Ok started it with options key and it lets me choose iPhoto Library however a little into the repair it says it does not have permissions to create a library

I copied the iPhoto library to a different location and now the repair of the library is working.  Is there a migration ability to move events from events to albums easily????

Just press option whilst starting Photos and you should get this

select the appropriate library and press choose library the next screen should be preparing library

Are you logged in as an administrator, this could be the problem with the permissions.
