Q: Partition a disc with 'stuff' on it?
I will soon have a replacement mac pro that will have Yosemite, which will take up ~25 GB on a 1TB disc. I'd like to partition that disc, but I don't know if that's possible - I fear that the partitioning begins by wiping the disc clean. So, my question: can the disc be partitioned while leaving the stuff on it undisturbed?
Mac Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8), Early '06, Also use OS 10.5 & 10.7

Yes, it can. Back the data up anyway in case a problem occurs; in addition, the drive may fail at any time.
