Right-click the Apple Mobile Device entry in Device Manager and choose Update Driver Software.
- Select "Browse my computer for driver software."
- Select "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer."
- Click the Have Disk button. Note: If the Have Disk option is not present, choose a device category such as Mobile Phone or Storage Device if listed, and then click next. The Have Disk button should then appear.
- Click the Browse button and navigate to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers.
- Double-click the "usbaapl" file. (This file will be called "usbaapl64" if you have a 64-bit version of Windows. If you don't see "usbaapl64" here, or if there is no Drivers folder, look in C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers. instead).
- Click Open in the Have Disk window. Then, click Next and then Click Finish. Windows will install the driver.

Apr 16, 2015 6:43 AM in response to SLianaD11by iHashmi,OH... MY... GOD...
This problem really shook me up bad. I spent the whole night doing everything written in this article but NO RESULT.
Eventually, THIS HELPED, and I was able to see my iphone in my iTunes :
1. I uninstalled and deleted all and every traces of iTunes and Apple related anything from the Control Panel.
2. Deleted all Apple related folders from Program Files.
3. Downloaded an older version of iTunes from here (the oldest I could see) : Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates
4. Started this old version of iTunes, though it would not start saying that the iTunes Library can't be imported as it was created using a later version of iTunes (understandable).
5. Uninstalled this older version (11 something) from computer and again deleted all Apple related files and folders I could find in Control Panel and Program Files.
6. Restarted my computer.
7. Installed latest version of iTunes (in my case 64 bit) - guys, you have to see which version would go with your machine, 32bit, 64 bit, or 64 bit with old video card (applicable in some older laptops and desktops).
8. Restarted my computer. Did not run iTunes at this stage, only started the computer.
9. Attached my iphone to allow it to install the needed connectivity files (automatic process).
10. Made sure my iphone was visible in explorer as a device. Unlocked it and 'Trusted' my computer.
11. Started iTunes, and Lo & Behold, my iphone was visible there, so I could back up, add more music etc.
Hope it would help someone like me.
P.S. As much as I LOVE my iDevices (iPhone, iPad, iPod), I absolutely HATE, DETEST, ABHOR the iTunes. For Heavens sake Apple, why did the interface between humans and iDevices HAD TO BE through iTunes, and why it couldn't be a user-friendly interface???

Apr 18, 2015 7:53 AM in response to SLianaD11by Vaschamp,Go to your phones settings, then general, and scroll to reset. Reset your network settings once the phone restarts, go back into iTunes and plug in your device trust the computer and your device should be recognized. hope this helps...

May 6, 2015 11:53 PM in response to SLianaD11by Oliveolayy,I actually had the same problem with my phone and ipod after updating to the newest itunes (my devices not recognized on itunes) and all that genius going into files and changing settings and stuff didnt work for me. I actually ended up googling if i can somehow download an older version and came to this link Apple - Support - Downloads <-- without uninstalling the itunes i had, I downloaded the top middle one and it still downloaded as the updated version but my devices were recognized.
