Apr 20, 2015 11:27 AM in response to Madinah66by Kappy,★HelpfulYou have a CPU that is running at 1.6 GHz and not at 2.6 GHz as in the MBPs. That's why they are slower.

Apr 20, 2015 11:27 AM in response to Kappyby Madinah66,Thanks for the reply. Yeah I was thinking that might be the reason but I am still curious to see if other peoples numbers on the new MacBook are the same or is there some optimization that could be done to improve these numbers ? Don't get me wrong, I am not complaining, For a notebook that weighs in at 2 pounds and offers everything that this does I am happy with those numbers. Just wanted to make sure that these are the average speeds for this machine.
Thanks

Apr 20, 2015 11:32 AM in response to Madinah66by Kappy,OK, but these forums are not the proper venue to do that. You are in effect "polling", which is not allowed here. Go to Google and search for benchmarks on the new model. That's your best information.

May 19, 2015 10:48 AM in response to Madinah66by wheresaldo,Hi,
I'm having the same results with Macbook 12 (Early 2015) SSD benchmark. This is something really concerning, as Apple has upgraded most of the line of laptops to higher speed, including Macbook Air 13" and Macbook Pro 13". The Macbook 12 is a really expensive laptop and it was easy to assume that it would have the new speedy SSDs like the Macbook Air and Pro. Can anyone confirm with another SSD benchmark tool?
Note: Kappy, the processor speed has nothing to do with the SSD benchmarking.

May 22, 2015 1:14 AM in response to wheresaldoby MrAceXPS,I looked at the benchmarks before I ordered mine. I saw that for the money, the specs were far slower than my MB Pro or my Air, but I liked the size and weight. Not sure the price point is right, but we are buying first generation basically so the specs aren't quite there yet.
Still a great system.
Are you disappointed with the feel of the system? This isn't a laptop I would be benchmarking.
But, if there is a problem with the hardware, then that is a different issue...
Are you happy with the system overall?

Aug 9, 2015 10:42 PM in response to Kappyby Oscar Silva,It has nothing to do with the processor speed. The hard drives in the MacBook Pros are pure SSD with the PCIe 3.0 connection where as the MacBook is a hard drive integrated onto the motherboard, similar to iPhones and iPads. Last years rMBP had PCIe 2.0, hence the increase in speed.

Aug 12, 2016 12:17 PM in response to Oscar Silvaby Daginski ,u r not right... Macbook Pro 2015 has PCI 2.0 x4 5GT/s the same has macbook retina 12" 2015.... so I think the problem here is motherboard or sth... I have both Pro and 12" and I noticed the same problem...

Aug 12, 2016 1:27 PM in response to Daginskiby Lanny,Don't know why you waited a year to contribute, but you are wrong. The 12" Retina MacBook Early 2015's hard drive interface is 5.0 GT/s PCIe x4 and the MacBook Pro 13" and 15" Early and Mid 2015's hard drive interface is 8.0 GT/s PCIe x4. So, they are not the same.
