The below links shows you how to erase an iphone
as you have sold your phone you will now need to visit www.icloud.com from a pc or another ios device, you will need to sign in with your apple id & password
when you sign in you click on the find my iphone icon, this should then start to locate your phone-> follow the above links on how to erase & wipe phone
