Apr 18, 2015 2:47 PM in response to philg1824by Glenn Leblanc,That is a probably a bug. It's happened to me also. Even though they don't show on the computer you add them from, they show up on other devices or computers. Try quitting Photos after adding to shared and see if they appear when you reopen it. This works for adding photos from a contextual menu such as adding pictures directly to Photo from Messages.

Apr 19, 2015 12:04 AM in response to Glenn Leblancby philg1824,Thanks for replying. I have tried that, but not worked yet.
I am on a slow connection at home and have a faster one at work.
Does anyone know if the connection matters, or one gives an instruction to the Cloud and all the photos are already in the cloud, so my Mac is then not part of the story, i.e. it all happens "remotely"?

Apr 19, 2015 5:26 AM in response to philg1824by Glenn Leblanc,Connection does matter. Depending on the size photos you upload & speed. So if your connection is really slow, then it could take a few minutes. But only minutes for a few photos.
I retested this this morning. Using an 18 MB uVerse connection, it took 20 seconds to upload 6.1 MB of photos to the shared album. Showed both on the computer and iPhone at the same time. When I deleted them it was immediate on both devices. So for me, it is working much better this morning.
If you are using iCloud to store your photos, then it will probably be quicker.
Seems mine is working better now. What I did was to delete the shared albums and recreated a new one.
I also repaired my database since first trying. When you start Photos, hold the Command-Option key down and click Photos to start it. You will get the option to repair the Library. That may take out some of the kinks.

Apr 20, 2015 6:22 AM in response to Glenn Leblancby philg1824,Many thanks. I had an album with 1300 photos in and used the option to share the album I got a failure message.
I then dragged around 20 photos to the new shared space and they immediately went across.
I then added another 400 via the same method and it worked.
Later, I tried to add another 400 and got the failure message.
Seems to be a bit haphazard.
Good to share experiences here.
Are there any worries about repairing databases?

Apr 20, 2015 6:51 AM in response to philg1824by Glenn Leblanc,Repairing the database should not hurt anything, but always backup before doing anything. You never know what can happen.
Not sure about why the hit and miss. Hopefully it will be more stable in the future.

Apr 21, 2015 5:17 AM in response to Glenn Leblancby philg1824,Thanks. I did repair the database. I now see that myiCloud Lbrary is addiing all the items again and uploading all the items again.
Luckily it does not appear to be duplicating!! i.e. all photos is still showing as 84,889 items.
is this usual and does anyone know what is happening here?

Apr 21, 2015 5:31 AM in response to philg1824by Glenn Leblanc,Repairing the database does not change any of the contents of your library. It just rebuilds the database file. Do you have that many items in your library?
Look at the Photos (Moments Collection) album instead. Scroll to the latest picture and look in the bottom of the window. It will show your photos and videos there also.

Apr 22, 2015 4:57 AM in response to philg1824by philg1824,When I look to add some pictures, I get the error message, "An internet connection is required to download these pictures", or similar. This is despite the fact that I am connected by ethernet to a stable LAN and other pictures are being effectively shared. Anybody else come across this?

Jul 27, 2015 3:59 PM in response to philg1824by allanfromtexas,Same problems. I want to upload ~250 files or more. I want them to be in the same order so I can share with other people. Would prefer to be able to share an album I've created on my machine.
